Another week seems to have flown by, with yet more interesting snippets of future comics, teased to us. This week we have news from Marvel, a preview of 2000AD and some news on the new Spirit comic. Grab a pew and let’s delve into the news once more…
The story continues with Fred, Bud has rebelled and his day is beginning to get better. Yet Dress is on the case, how long before their paths cross.
Slaine takes on the army of Brutus Soldiers, how many can he take down by himself?
We have a one shot terror tales this week, a story involving phase shifting, a dead mother and apes! A dark engrossing tale.
The Grey Area continues with the team planning an escape before the God Star arrives. Yet there’s someone missing, where is Manners and what is he up to?
The issue concludes with another chapter in the current Strontium Dog adventure. Alpha has managed to reach the rock. Will he find the one he’s looking for. Could Alpha have bitten off more than he can chew, with a host of enemies looking at revenge!
The publisher very kindly sent us a preview copy.
We already know that Black Widow will be taking part in the Last Days, before Secret Wars. However if right then we will also be getting a solo series spanning out after the events in Secret Wars. Even more interesting is that it could well be written by the one and only Mark Waid.
With the eventual release of Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron on Blu-Ray and DVD – let’s be honest this is probably very likely. Personally it would be great to see more of Black Widow, so fingers crossed this turns out to be true.
Whether this means a new comic or perhaps a TV show, is yet to be seen. However it’s exciting that this group may soon be bought back.
The Illuminati was a group of the most intelligent people in the Marvel Universe, working together to see humanity. The original lineup comprised of Professor X, Mister Fantastic, Iron Man and Namor. However over the years the ranks have changed, including The Beast, Yellowjacket and even Captain Britain.
I’d love to see this secret team return to the pages of a Marvel comic.
The character has proven popular, so much so that he will be starring, in the new spin off series alongside the Atom. With this it would look like DC are looking to capitalize on the characters growing popularity.
According to Bleeding Cool, DC are now looking at potentially rebooting the comic. Firestorm hasn’t really been that popular even before the New 52. However that may now change.
What’s even more exciting is that they have supposedly approached co-creator Gerry Conway. Excited? I am now!
Taking place on the 7th November at the Arab American National Museum – this new event has been designed to bring together female artists, illustrators, publishers and fans.
I have to say the guest list is already looking amazing with Alex de Campi, Mairghread Scott, Leila Abdelrazaq, Nancy Collins, Marguerite Dabaie, Nicole Georges and Mikki Kendal all attending.
There will also be a screening of the documentary She Makes Comics, discussion panels and a costume contest. This should be one amazing day.
That’s all for this week, till next time this is Cookie signing out.
