Hello and welcome to this week’s comic roundup. This week we have news on a fresh series from Scott Snyder, the return of Chris Claremont and a showdown to end all showdowns. So grab a drink and lets get this show on the road…

nightcrawlerThis week saw a nice little teaser from Marvel. And it included a simple little word, which made me stand up and scream with joy. The word was Bamf! The sound effect made by every ones favourite, teleporting mutant – Nightcrawler. The one word teaser was accompanied by the names Chris Claremont and Todd Nauck. The only other clue in this little teaser was the month April 2014. Does this mean that the long term X-Men writer is working on a solo adventure for our blue furred mutant? l really hope so.

deadpoolvscarnageNow moving onto, what could perhaps, be the greatest fight of the year! Marvel have announced that finally, Deadpool and Carnage are about to cross paths for the very first time. In a four issue limited series, launching this April these two will go head to head and it sounds like Wade wants to end Carnage once and for all. April is shaping up to be an expensive month for must read comics.

Secret Origins

secret-originsApril would appear to be the month for new books and for publishers to have a good shake up. DC stepped up this week to announce two new titles, which to be honest took me quite by surprise. First up is a revival of a series which, first debuted in 1961. Secret Origins will be delving into the secret origins of DC characters. The first book is set to be very Superman orientated with future issues focussing on other characters. Im still trying to figure out how this fits in with the New 52, but it will be intriguing to find out.

batman-vs-baneThen they hit me with a new one-shot title, featuring Bats and the return of Bane. Entitled simply Batman Vs Bane. This post forever evil story will see Batman returning to Gotham and going head to head once more with the mercenary. This for me will be a definite purchase this April.

aquamanAquaman is getting another series this April, when he’s joined by the Others. The Others were Aquamans super team before the Justice League and were recently introduced/re-introduced in Aquaman. Its certainly going to be interesting to see more of the team, and how the characters develop.

Image Comics

wychesScott Snyder is one busy guy. As well as his working on Batman, Image comics have announced, that later this year they will be publishing anew ongoing series by Scott Snyder and Jock – entitled Wytches. A new horror series thats set to take the mythology to a far creepier place than before. Theres no official launch date as of yet , but I’ll be keeping my eyes open.

That, all for this week, till next time. This is Cookie signing out.
