Hello fellow comic fans and welcome to this weeks comic round up. Some interesting news from Marvel and some that may not be that surprising at all. So grab a drink and let’s get this show in the road….
Marvels had a fairly busy week with the return of a few familiar faces. First up is the return of my favourite Hells Kitchen lawyer – Daredevil. Returning in his first Marvel Now series this March – taking up the helm is Mark Waid and Chris Samnee. I’m really glad that Matt Murdock has finally got his own series in the Marvel Now universe, and I can’t wait to see the direction The Man Without Fear goes in. We’ve been teased a little with the mention of a move To The city by the Bay and the return of some familiar faces. My list for must buy comics in March has just grown….
A few weeks ago I discussed the cancellation of Wolverine and the X-Men. Although I was a little sad I was quite pleased that it was coming to its natural end – or so I thought! For this week Marvel have announced a new team will be taking on duties at Wolverines school. Relaunching in March for a new semester Wolverine and the gang will be back. I’m a little disappointed that Marvel have chosen to relaunch so soon after the initial cancellation. It does seem that a cancellation of a book is nothing nowadays and should always be taken with a pinch of salt.
Another new story arc was revealed this week. This March Iron Man will face one of his toughest challenges as thinks kick off in Rings of The Mandarin. From what I’ve read this looks like it could be a rather explosive adventure for Mr Stark as he has to battle supernatural forces – we all know he loves those.
Over in the Valiant Universe things are set to be shaken and stirred this January, with a new story arc – beginning in Harbinger #20. Entitled resistance – this week we’ve been teased with a whistleblower and Harada going public. This could change the Valiant Universe forever and I can’t wait to see how Valiant deal with the ramifications, this could lead to. Exciting times lay ahead 2014 is really heating up.
Over at DC it’s been a fairly quiet week – except a new image for Detective Comics #29. When I first saw the image I felt a little uneasy. The Bat Family seem to have taking on a rather unsettling scarecrow quality. This issue is going to bring the conclusion to Gothopia and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be pretty!
That’s all for this week, it’s been a little quiet this week – so this is Cookie signing out….
