Welcome to this weeks comic roundup. This time we have more teases, cancellations and a title that been in the making for the last five years. So enough rambling – let’s get started.

Marvel

Miles Morales

Miles-Morales So first story that caught my eye, was a possible teaser from none other than Brian Bendis. He posted a curious image on his Tumblr page, which started all sorts of rumours. The image is rather poignant and I’m really hoping that it could turn into something real, is Miles Morales about to enter the normal Marvel universe – teaming up with the X-Men? The image certainly points to this and we already know that Miles will take part in the Spider-Verse event later this year. This could prove to be amazing. I rather like Miles as a character so my fingers are certainly crossed.

Moon Knight

Moon-Knight On a sadder note, it would seem that the new Moon Knight series will be ending this August. Marvel released a solicitation concerning issue 6 – pointing to the end if the line. In some regards it makes sense, Warren Ellis has always seemed to take on a new series, make it big and then leave after six issues. I guess it keeps him and us in our toes. I’m just hoping that Moon Knight carries on or gets rebooted with a new team. Six issues just doesn’t seem enough…

Time Runs Out

Time-runs-out More news from the Avengers front, concerning a finale like no other set to hit shelves next May. The big crossover event entitled Time Runs Out is set to begin this September, not much is known but Marvel have announced that next May will see the finale and something that Marvel has never done in the last 75 years! What this means is anyone’s guess – although a lot of rumours have surfaced about a possible reboot of the whole Marvel Universe. Is a reboot a good idea, do you think its possible? Let me know.

DC

Multiversity

Multiversity-2 Five years ago, I remember getting rather excited as DC teased Multiversity – a new series from Grant Morrison. It intrigued me with characters such as Captain Carrot, Doc Fate and Superdemon! Alas it seemed to just disappear like a wisp of smoke. However it would appear that it’s finally set to hit shelves – and we don’t have that long to wait. Multiversity issue 1 is set to launch this August. I for one cannot wait!

All Star Western

All-Star-Western More news hit my radar, regarding August as it looks like DC are ending some more of their New 52 series. The titles in question include All Star Western – which, is a real shame. I’ve really gotten into this Western. Other titles involved are Superboy, Birds Of Prey and Batwing. So I guess its in with the new and out with the old. DC do have new series ready to debut pretty much immediately including Grayson and New Suicide Squad. Which title will you miss most?

Electricomics

Electricomics

Electricomics Some rather exciting news came from legend Alan Moore this week. Moore has announced that he is delving into the digital marketplace with a new app called Electricomics. The new app will not only feature original comics but in a neat twist, it will also be open-access. With the hopes of allowing budding comic creators to bring their titles to the new platform with relative ease, via their open source toolkit. This is sounding very interesting and promising. No launch dates as of yet but I’ll be keeping my ears to the ground for more news.
